I went to the peak via the offroad trail from Stampede Reservoir. There were a few dicey areas, one which required me to use X Mode, but my Subaru took it like a champ. The road up is very scenic and a nice get away from the desert. On the top is a lookout. There is currently a lookout stationed there who is the nicest older lady and her dog, which is equally as nice.

She offered a lot of insight into the area, potential other accessible by car peaks, and was just good company. It was a good way to retreat from the 90+ degrees below.

Stopped by Boca Reservoir and Truckee River on the way home and skipped some rocks and dipped my toes in, because why not?
