"3-day trip in the Rax-Alpen region. First day we stayed in the Ottohaus, slight snow coverage. Second day, we summited Heukuppe, with varying snow depth, staying at the Waxriegelhaus. Night was a bit noisy, so we were a bit tired on the descent on the 3rd day. We got almost perfect weather for all 3 days, if we don't count the stormy winds. " — Balint • Oct 24, 2025
"It wasn't a long hike, but Gstoder is an amazing vantage point. The entire Low Tauern range is right at your fingertips, and the High Tauern range stretches out in the distance. As a bonus, there was the surprising autumnal red of the blueberries." — Rikitan • Sep 15, 2025
"oday was rainy from the morning, so we made only short walk and return back to Hölzlerhütte for some Strudel mit Vanilla sauce. Then I spent an afternoon with kids on Erlebnis walk. Mixing Deutsch with English here, sorry 🙂 And it is not even relevant.
Anyway, it was 17:30, when I came back to the cottage with kids and I was still kind of full of energy. So I decided for a speedhike to Schoberspitze. Sometimes it's my favourite sport. Nothing complicated or hard, just push it to your legs as fast as possible. No need to run. I told myself, that at 19:00 I'm turning back, wherever it will be. And it happened, at 18:54:30 I touched the summit cross.
Pretty much together with the last rays of sunshine, fighting with the clouds around me. Logged a cache quickly, took couple of pictures and continued my speedwalk, back to Neunkirchen Hütte. It took me 45 minutes, over 1000m of elevation. Not bad for chap in his 40-ties. In fact, I felt great." — Rikitan • Sep 14, 2025
"It was amazing. On Saturday, we took kids on Talkenschrein and they did very well. Somewhere around 800 metres of ascent and descent, solid for group of 7-9 year old girls. But the hike itself is very good choice for kids - waterfall, pastures with cows, then streams, lakes and rocks. Nothing too steep, nothing dangerous. Just weather was a bit windy and ... neblig ... on the top, so we couldn't stay there much longer than 5 - 10 minutes." — Rikitan • Sep 13, 2025
"Started from Preintalerhutte down to the Riesachsee and back up to Gollinghutte. From there it went over the Gollingscharte up to the Samspitze from where it went down to Duitsitzkarseehutte. The next day it went over the Murspitzenscharte to the Ursprungalm and over the Brottrinnl back to Obertauern where the hike started." — BelgiumGipfelsturmer • Aug 14, 2021
