"Simple out and back trip if you want a shorter trip. There are a lot of tracks around and so we took some of them to lengthen the hike. The hill has a water tank on top which seems to be a graffiti safehaven, took some photos of it." — Hiyouboots • Sep 20, 2020

"Very short 15 minutes walk out and back. No view from the summit, unfortunately. It is not clear where entrance is from road but with adequate prior research, it is easy to find." — Hiyouboots • Sep 13, 2020

"As Mt Woodroofe in on Aboriginal lands, the only realistic ally way to climb it, is with the tour company SEIT Outback Australia, which takes 1 group, once a year in May. The tour is quite expensive, lasts for 3 days, with pick up and drop off from Ayers Rock Accommodation. Incudes transport, all meals, a swag to sleep in, optional shower after the hike. You need to take your own UFH radio, which you use to contact the base WEIT Outback Australia staff members when you reach the summit and 1 hour before you are back at the base. There is no marked track to the summit, so you make your own way. The SEIT staff do not guide you. There is minimal shade, some rock scrambling. It is classed as a Difficult walk, mostly because of the expansive array of spinifex. However a bush fire had gone through the week before we climbed, and burnt a lot of the spinifex, making it easier to climb. There is a Cairn at the Summit as well as a log book.
We made it to the summit fairly easily, but got a bit lost on the way down and had to back track a few times" — tarawood • May 11, 2019

"Left Mount Barker and drove through the Adelaide Hills to reach Mount Gawler. Parked off the road and set up the radio gear on the road reserve to activate VK5/SE-013, making 11 contacts. Spoke with the property owner when he came out to leave for some shopping. He granted permission to visit the trig station, only about 15 m or so inside his property. Ipacked up and worked my way south to Mount Lofty. I parked in the car park and visited the summit proper before finding a spot away from all the people to activate Mount Loft VK5/SE-005 and Cleland Conservation Park, making 47 contacts. I packed up and made my way back to Mount Barker for the night." — peterfreeman • May 19, 2017
