"This hike completed the Clark County P2K list for Amber! We parked along the powerline road and went straight up the canyon south of the summit. There was nothing particularly difficult about the canyon other than a few loose boulders and the steepness. Once at the top of the canyon, we followed the ridge to the summit. Again, nothing too difficult. We enjoyed lunch and celebrated Amber's feat with a bottle of champagne, then headed down roughly the same way. The winds were bad and we got a few snowflakes on the way up, but it was mostly sunny the whole way down." — Kevin • Feb 9, 2019
"Today was Amber's list completion day for the Clark County P2K Peak List! We schlepped champagne and ourselves up to the top of Big Arrow, the Arrow Canyon Range Highpoint. We were able to turn onto a dirt road around mile marker 77 off of US-93 N (toward Great Basin) and head in toward a pole road that paralleled the Arrow Canyon range. We drove back down to around MM 72 (on the pole road) and headed up the wash to the south of the summit. Steep...! From the saddle at the wash, we headed north and up a series of terraces, then up a really steep drainage with very loose rock to get to the next series of bouldering areas, then finally one more gentle terrace to the summit. We celebrated with oatmeal rasin cookies, champagne, and snacks. The weather was cold and threatening on the way up (started around 24°F, it spit snow on us at one point), and when the wind blew, it was a below-freezing wind chill. On the way down, though, the clouds cleared away and the wind died down and it was a beautiful sunny day. Congratulations, Amber! <3" — psychikingjes • Feb 9, 2019
"My first time to the range, back before the ugly interconnect and the housing development. We went over the highpoint (first of my 3x), but I've always found the USGS "Arrow" to be a much nicer and ruggeder peak. There were old registers on both peaks in 2004, gone by the next year.
