"The day is hot today, so I have to work up a sweat to climb the rocky north face of this mountain, which reminds me a bit of Captain Nemo's submarine. The centuries-old walls that held up the farming terraces were abandoned years ago and continue to crumble.
The slope is steep, and the terrain is broken and rocky, with some caves created by erosion.
From the top, there are good views of the surrounding mountains, such as Corqué to the south. Quarries can also be seen to the east, which have a visual impact on the landscape toward the province of Alicante. I'm glad to see that the pine trees have grown quite a bit since I last visited this place and that some thyme has sprouted again thanks to the recent storms." — franciscobirruezo • Sep 27, 2025
"I return to this mountain after several years, this time alone and I decide to explore new routes so I climb the west side, abrupt and steep. On my way up I find several natural shelters carved into the rock caused by erosion, they are spacious and I suspect that someone used them in ancient times. There are traces of soot on some roofs as a result of bonfires. I have lunch in one of the caves to see what those who were here before me saw, and I am really happy.
I then approach other peaks such as 697 m and in some areas the ground is a continuous and eroded rock, underneath there are important caves, in some holes you can see accumulated water from the last rains." — franciscobirruezo • Sep 10, 2023
"Of the climb of today we are left with the vision of a male boar running in one minute what would cost us an hour. When I managed to shoot the camera, he was on the other side of the ravine.
It has also been lucky, he has been scared to see us and he has not attacked us.
We have also seen the entrance of a cave with an anchor. I'm not surprised because the mountain is a rocky mass." — franciscobirruezo • Apr 14, 2018
