"Had a half day to explore the peaks of Oahu so turned to (the new) peakery for guidance... on the Map page used the Summits filter to find the most climbed peaks on the island. Olomana and the 3 peaks ridge traverse rose to the top. After seeing a photo of the giant shark fin-shaped Ahiki I was in.
Started up the trail at 10am at a determined clip. But as the climb to the first peak steepened, the Hawaii heat kicked my fast pace down a few notches. When I hit the final roped cliff band below the first peak, I took a bad route and got into a semi-intense position that got the adrenaline going.
Upon cresting the summit I was surprised to find... people everywhere: groups doing selfies, music playing from mini speakers in backpacks, and a string of hikers eking their way along a gnarly looking ridge trail leading to peaks 2 and 3. Was amazed that this many people were doing such a difficult hike.

"On our first day in Hawaii, Crystal took us up to do the Olomana 3 peak hike (Olomana, Paku'i & Ahiki). It was rainy, so it made some of the climbs very sketchy, but nobody died, so that's good! This was by far the coolest of the 3 peaks!!" — Kevin • May 30, 2015
