"Nice easy walk from our lodging in Keswick,The Cumbria House. Recent rains made the footing a bit wet and muddy. Wonderful views of the area for a short climb. Dropped down toward the lake and popped into a hotel restaurant for a pint and sandwich." — Nimblefoot • Sep 28, 2023
"21/1/2023
Six more winter Wainwrights done today! Cloudy and a stiff cold wind as far as High Seat, then the sun appeared. Ground still fairly firm after a week of frost and snow, so feet remained dry again. Accompanied by Susan and Peg the dog." — johnandsue4fun • Jan 21, 2023
"Out with the Explorers on their diamond expedition but walking the route in reverse to meet them on the way. Set off from Ashness Bridge area up to Watendlath. Route was to High Tove, Armboth Fell back to High Tove, High Seat Bleaberry Fell, Walla Crag and back to Ashness. Took the youngest kid with me as the eldest was in the expedition. It was a long day but nice to tick off several Wainwrights in a day " — charliegill • Aug 31, 2022
"A wet day with low cloud on the high tops, so a low level walk to Walla Crag. From Keswick centre, out on Springfield Rd to roadhead, then we went up through Springs wood. crossed the footbridge by Rakefoot, then up the open hillside. We took the woodland path along the edge of the crest to the summit of Walla Crag. On the summit, the view S to the higher peaks was obscured by clouds and rain, but there were views to the NW. From the summit, we continued S and descended to Ashness bridge. Here we walked down the minor road to the shores of Derwent Water, then walked 4km back on the lakeside path to Keswick." — davidlong • Oct 23, 2017
