I grew up in suburban Boston and wandered the woods, streams and fields of an expanding suburbia. I went to summer camp in New Hampshire in the late 1950's where I was introduced to hiking and climbing 'mountains'. My earliest Peakery entries go all the way back to those days. Organized sports kept me from heavy involvement with the outdoors till the end of college. Since then I have been an AT section hiker off and on for many years. For my 60th birthday I was able to get a permit to climb Mt Whitney which was when I was born the highest mountain in the US (pre Alaska statehood). I have completed the NH and NE 4000'ers . I'm working on several other lists as I find it keeps me getting out. I regularly lead local outings for the SRKG in NH as well as being the leader of the Wildcat Outing Club at the school where I teach. My goals are to keep on truckin.....
