"Beautiful day to hike Litchfield County’s “other” Mount Tom. This one is in New Milford. I made several mistakes trying to pick up the trail at the start, which added to my trip time, but figured it all out after crossing the East Aspetuck River bridge. I took the White Trail. The white blazes for the White Trail were often hard to find, but the trail was generally in good shape. There were several blowdowns that one had to walk around, but none were too hard to bypass. Signage much better nearer the top. Top is marked with a wooden sign. The summit only has views to the east—pretty, but partially blocked by trees." — Badgerinmaine • Sep 14, 2023
"Hit 6 peaks in one really long day to complete the CT Tower Challenge. Some things to note: 1. The Sleeping Giant tower is not at the summit of Mt Carmel. 2. The short route up East Peak is very steep and should not be attempted unless you are in really good shape. 3. Cunningham Tower is nowhere near the top of Mohawk Mountain. Make sure you look it up first as there is really no trail to the tower as you will need to take the road. " — jonl • Dec 29, 2022
