"Left the Sandstone / Mishe Mokwa Loop to take a spur trail to the summit. Had clear views toward Pop Top and Big Dome. I regret that I didn't have more patience to hike over to both summits, since they looked really close, but the route to them wasn't clear to me at the time. I guess that will haunt me until I come back again some day." — MikeTeeples • May 28, 2018
"5/7. Getting up to this peak was hot but straightforward. I skipped the summit block. From the South it was a good 20-30 feet of class 3 that I wasn't feeling. Continuing on, I stupidly decided to go through the middle of the three boulders in an attempt to find the use trail. After flailing in brush and boulders, I ended up getting cliffed out on the north end of Tri Peaks. I started to head back along easier terrain before realizing that I had actually found the use trail which took a much easier way around the south and east side of the main summit. From there, I followed the use trail through some incredible boulder terrain including a small tunnel a 100 foot slot before getting dumped on to the ridge to Pop Top. " — edg • Jun 17, 2017
"Perfect day for a hike , everything was green and the weather was in the mid 70's! Got to the peak and found the marker. The very tip top would require some rope to be safe. " — DoyleWalton • Apr 29, 2017
"After scrambling to the top I met a local woman, who said Tri-peaks is her favorite place to go because it is so secluded. The crowds stay closer to Sandstone Peak and Inspiration Point rather than Tri-peaks. I said, "Sorry to interrupt". She actually was very happy to tell me all about the surrounding peaks and trails. She eventually scrambled down leaving me to experience the seclusion she seeks so often there. " — garydavidsonruns • Mar 11, 2017
"1st of 4 peaks today and Peak #2 of my 100 in 2014 goal. We went up the Mishe Mokwa up to Tri-peaks. We didn't take the trail to tri-peaks, we just found our own way. Such a fun Climb. from there we hit exchange peak, boney peak, and Sandstone Peak." — 1-with-Nature • Jan 19, 2014
"Second last stop of the day. The summit block is an impressive boulder with class 4-5 climbing. The holds looks excellent but being all alone I decided it wasn't worth the risk for the extra 20 feet." — Christopher • Apr 21, 2013
"1st peak of 7-peak traverse with 21 OCHC hikers! From Sandstone parking area #1(2,060') hiked 3.3 miles w/1,340' gain on Mishe Mokwa and peak trails to the top of Tri Peaks. Next stop, Pop Top!" — BradStemm • Mar 23, 2013
"Started at Mishe Mokwa trailhead on a very hot day. Broke off the trail to do the 0.5 mile (one way) detour to get to Tri Peaks. The trail takes you the bottom of the tallest of the three rocks which make up the three peaks. It is about 20-22 ft of class 4/5 to get to the top, with the most difficult part the last 10 ft." — srphilip • Jul 2, 2011
