"I started this hike at 8:30 AM. I headed up pash the gushing San Antonio Creek and also passed through the area with many cabins, it had 2 creeks to cross there. Then I headed through the oak forests and then climbed through the semi-flat area with many pines and the first views. Then I climbed up some more canyons ad areas with views and passed by a boulder blocking the road. After that, I reached Stoddard Flat, which is ver flat and the junction to the use trail up the ridge. It was slightly steep at first, but then became a light scramble down the rocks and a crossing across a slippery rock. Then I reached the summit of Stoddard Peak, which had a witness post, a register, and 2 signs, an some very nice views. I was also barely above the clouds here, an estimate of 20 ft max. "Summited Stoddard Peak while the peak was in the marine layer. Because of that, views were the inside of the clouds. This is my third summit over the years. Wildflowers were in bloom. The clouds cleared out in the afternoon (after I came down)." — MikeTeeples • May 21, 2022
"P.S I did this hike long ago, the video mentioned is very old. I don't remember most of the other things. Now let's get to the real trip report.
I started the hike at about 9 AM. The trail was covered in clouds and fog. The trail started out very mellow. The trail enters a cabin region with cool architecture and a lot of creek crossings. Then it entered a long section of oak groves. Then I and my dad and sister saw some cool trees and rocks. Then we reached Stoddard Flat. The flat was actually a small meadow. Then we acended a the use trail to the actual summit. I had to go down about 400 ft to a small saddle/ridge. Then we acended the actual summit. I saw the witness post and the 2 registers on the summit. There were cool views." — lcnguyen • Dec 25, 2021
"7 miles r/t w/1,050' gain via Barrett Cyn to Stoddard Peak Trail. Fog and rain, used GPS to find the peak as we couldn't see it. Hiked with Dennis Loya, Ethan and Terry Shaw. TH:3780' near intersection of Barrett Cyn Road and Mt Baldy Road near Baldy Village." — BradStemm • Apr 30, 2016
"Went up to Stoddard on a day where thunderstorms and flash floods were forecasted. We started the hike with blue skies to the north and as the day went on we watched those clear skies turn to storm clouds very quickly which was cool. the climb to the peak was super fun and very beautiful. We smoked a joint along the way and had cold beers at the top. this marked peak #65 of my 100 in 2014 goal. We ate food in baldy village and listened to the thunder for a bit before returning home." — 1-with-Nature • Sep 7, 2014
"Fun Hike-fire road most of the way-Blackberries almost ready-last part is on single path-good views over the valley. LOTS of GNATS under the trees! This would be a fun hike during winter (It was 90 degrees at the parking area) and most of the hike is in the sun" — Curt • Aug 27, 2014
