"The road out from Santiago de Compostela into the neighborhood of Sar and kept walking until I got to the countryside. Had to walk through some farms and forests before I got onto the country road that leads to the summit. Almost nobody else around except for some mountain bikers/people on ATVs. You’ve got the whole mountain to yourself with great views of the city." — trevorhuxham • Oct 25, 2014
"Lived in Santiago de Compostela for 2 years and hiked up this mountain several times as it’s only a little under an hour to the top from the city center. Super easy to get lost as there are tons of lookalike trails circling around the hillsides, but the views from the top are absolutely unbeatable." — trevorhuxham • Oct 19, 2014
"Walked up the road that curves around the hillside to get to the “Cidade da Cultura de Galicia,” the City of Culture of Galicia that is being constructed on the summit right outside of the Santiago de Compostela urban area." — trevorhuxham • May 8, 2014
"Daytripped out here from Vigo solely to go up this mountain, because on the summit there’s a “castro” or the ruins of an ancient Celtic settlement—probably the best-preserved in northwest Spain. Fairly easy hike up. Views from the summit include the Atlantic Ocean to the west, the fishing village of A Guarda down below, and Portugal on the other side of the Miño River to the south." — trevorhuxham • Jan 4, 2014
"Road the Monbus bus out from Santiago de Compostela and got off at the stop for the village of Lestedo. It was pretty easy to find the trailhead and once we got out into the forest it was an easy half-hour hike up. Panoramic views of the surrounding countryside as Pico Sacro is a prominent conical mountain." — trevorhuxham • Nov 24, 2013
