"I've read and heard from many people that you MUST have a 4X4 to get to the "trailhead." After hiking four county highpoints and seeing the roads in pretty good shape, we decided to try south tent. The road was long but our 15 passenger van had no problems!
There's no trail up, so we just hiked up to the saddle, then south to the top of south tent, turn around and hike to north tent, turn around and headed back to the saddle for our return to the van." — Hilljr • Jul 25, 2015
"Followed the ridge from the summit of North Tent down to the saddle, and the summited South Tent after the sun had set. Left the mountain along the same ridge line back to North Tent." — strongbad_reggie • Jul 17, 2012
"Drove up right after work to Skyline Drive, made my way to the base of the mountain. As I was going up, the sky was beautiful, and the sunset was amazing. Right as I reached the summit, a huge cloud bank rolled over me, and the fog was so thick I couldn't see more than 10 feet in front of me. As I didn't have a compass, I went down the wrong ridge than I had planned, going north down into Black Canyon instead of going west to the summit of North Tent. Ended up getting lost, had to make a shelter to keep myself and my dog Rocky alive. As I attempted to make a self rescue the next day, in the middle of a fierce blizzard, (the fog had still not lifted, and wouldn't for another 4 days) Sanpete County Search and Rescue found me, and I made it down the mountain safe.
