"A Moat Mountain traverse for my red-lining finish. We went from North to South so I could finish on South Moat. It was a beautiful day for it. Drank some champagne on the summit. It is a surreal feeling that I finished this multi year project. " — newenglandwarrior • Aug 7, 2020
"A gorgeous day to hike...temps in the upper 40's and sun! A bit slushy and some areas were very icy but the trail was well packed down due to the recent rain and a previous snowshoer. " — shay-shay • Dec 27, 2016
"Traversed Moat ridge starting north and going south with a car at either end. Beautiful clear day with great views at multiple spots. One of the better day hikes I have done in awhile." — SteveG • Jul 4, 2016
"It was sweltering day with little wind. This time I conned my two younger brothers, Morgan and Drew, into accompanying me. Since we only had one car and wanted to get all three peaks, we went all the way out to North Moat and back. Needless to say, it was a pretty miserable trek. " — Cornellian • Jun 30, 2013
"Great day for a hike. The winds today were gusting at about 40 mph. It was incredibly hard to stand on top and take a video. We hiked the extra .6 miles to Middle Moat. I would have liked to gone on to North Moat, but I had taken out my warm hat this morning and was really missing it. The views from the top were nice the first time we crossed the peak, but the Scenic Vista on the second time I hit the summit was even better. The view of Falmouth was easy on the eyes. Perhaps I'll see Falmouth on another mountain some day. Happy Trails" — bwright • May 26, 2013
"I hiked from South to Middle to North Moat.
This was a beautiful hike and one of my favorites. All three peaks offered incredible vistas, so of the best views I have seen. The climb to the first peak was tougher than I thought it would be. The trail from Middle to North was hard to find, most of this section of the trail was unmarked. The undergrowth was also pretty think there was a short amount of time we were not positive if we were on the trail.
A great hike!" — CarissaJean • Jun 19, 2011
"Was originally going to do all three peaks, but South Moat was really tough, and I ran out of water. Then when going back I went off the trail briefly and got lost. I had a map and compass, and there was a river, so I just followed the river out. Slipped at one point and sprained my ankle. Finally out of desperation took water from the river unfiltered. When I got to the road I went to the nearest house to try and find out where my car was parked, and then discovered it was within sight!" — NHClimber • Jul 4, 2003
