I've been thinking about doing this one for a while. Mind if I ask which way you approached it?
I didn't post a route because we clearly went the wrong way. But after we were so far into it we decided to keep going. I had an old trip report that I had read. We came in off of PCT. Not having climbed it before and int being snow covered we took what we thought was the right trail but ended up bushwacking and postholing all the way up.
I wan't to go back to that area in the summertime when we can see how far we were off.
Definitely. It's always cool to return to a location in the summer when you've only seen it in the winter. Thanks for the info! I couldn't decide whether I wanted to take the PCT in or head over from Mount Hyak. I think I'll give it a try from the PCT and see if I have better luck.
Roots and more slippery roots. There was about 8 inches of snow at summit. Not bad.I would rather climb to the summit twice instead of coming down that peak once.
