"I have been up the storm king trail several times but this was my first trip up to the summit. I had a failed attempt in the past so I knew the route this time. Bushwhack from the lake Sutherland side till in a gully. Followed the gully for a while until I cut back into the forest. When you get to the ridge it is a solid class 3 scramble. Register dates back to 1978. Glad to finally make it up this mountain after looking at it nearly everyday." — MatthewWinterberg • Oct 14, 2022
"June 1, 2021. A very sweaty climb to the summit. Ropes were in good condition although some of them are not really needed if you have boots or trail runners with good traction. If you are an experienced hiker this trail should not be a problem for you. I’ve done Angles Landing and Half Dome and a few other hikes that could have used ropes but did not have any and this trail was nothing compared to those. So don’t let reviews scare you off from doing this hike if you are not afraid of heights. Hiked to Marymere Falls afterwards. 5.3 miles total and 2,303 feet of eg. " — runningvegan • Jun 1, 2021
