"From Twin lakes I headed up to Silliman pass and then followed the long north ridge over to Mt. Silliman. The ridge has a gnarly class 3/4 notch. I climbed it no problem, but on my way back I avoided it by dropping down to the small lakes on the east side of the ridge. Once at Mt. Silliman I had to traverse around it to it's east side where I found a chute that would take me to the south slopes. Unfortunately it was still filled with snow/ice, but I was able to get up it. From there it was an easy walk up to the summit. The views from the top were HUGE!! You can see so much of the Sierra Nevada range from up there. " — DerekJayRichardson • Sep 30, 2019
"We climbed Silliman as a Sierra Club WTC experience trip over Labor Day weekend led by Gideon Strich and Jen Blackie. The (Class 2) friction slabs were exactly as advertised, but the weather was perfect, the air was clear, and the views, glacial lakes, and altitude were breathtaking!" — ctrain2018 • Sep 2, 2018
"Nice dayhike out of Lodgepole. Views from the summit are astounding; my favorite so far in the range. Minarets to Mineral King. 1000 feet of slab was fun. Got a bit off track coming down above Silliman Meadow, but made it down without incident. Another perfect day." — edg • Aug 17, 2014
"Left Lodgepole via Twin Lakes Trail the day before. Followed Silliman Creek drainage up the slabs and spend the night at Silliman Lake at 10,040). Fantastic sunset, then a pre-dawn start to greet the morning at the Summit. A great Father's Day trip...My two brothers and I took our Dad to the summit!

"Hiked via Silliman Creek, up the friction slabs, to Silliman Lake. After watching the little red fishies swim around, I proceeded to the high lake. The gully was filled with snow from an early winter storm, so I climbed easy class 2 rock directly up the face to the ridge then to the summit." — klotito • Oct 13, 2011
