"Early hike up Mt. Pemigewasset Trail from the Flume parking lot. The trail was in very good shape. The views from the lookout were great. The leaves are just starting to change. " — mattgardner • Sep 19, 2021
"Beautiful late summer hike - warm but not hot, no bugs, and great views. There are several little stream crossings early on and then a steady ascent. Got engaged at the summit :) " — Gregrog • Sep 7, 2019
"Could not have asked for a prettier day on the trail! The Mount Pemi trail was busy given the great weather, but was in solid shape and mostly dry even after yesterday's rain. The views from the top were fantastic as always. My dog was a fellow hiker favorite along the way, and he didn't hate that at all!" — HikeLikeMike • Aug 6, 2017
"We started out from the Flume Gorge Visitors Center on the Mt. Pemigewasset Trail. The weather was great, there were tons of other hikers and the summit was a bit busy, but the people were all friendly and nice. Lots of dogs besides ours on the trails and summit. Unfortunately, I have no idea how long it took us, as we forgot to look at the time when we started. Sweet little hike." — Hufflepuff • Jul 29, 2017
"I hiked down from Galehead Hut to my car, drove over, and hiked up Pemigewasset. I red-lined the Indian Head Tr from the south. Lots of people on the summit. Beautiful day to be out. " — newenglandwarrior • May 21, 2017
"Strange day. Cold and blustery at the trailhead then warmed up during the hike up. Skies opened a little for some limited views at the summit. Perlite snow showers throughout the morning. Very nice trail." — goshen-bagger • Dec 3, 2016
"A great day for a hike. We were four for four today. Team Dog was made up of Max, Monty, Penny and Sugar, Team People Mary, Diane, Jenny and myself. The views today were spectacular. We only met 4 other hikers on the trail. The upper part of the trail had a fair amount of ice but nothing micro spikes couldn't handle. Happy Trails" — bwright • Apr 5, 2016
"The trail was packed and icy in some spots on the way up. We took a different route down which was a mix of hard snow, no snow and ice and water. We saw fresh moose scat. The top was cloudy with wind gusts." — jungleland • Dec 28, 2014
"Cloudy, not to cold. Ascent moderate via Pemi trail. Excellent southern views from summit but big wind whipping through up top. Descent via Indian Head trail very rough, somewhat poor coditions. But saw very large and fresh moose scat about 1/4 mile from summit. No moose sighting though." — Alohabuffy • Dec 28, 2014
"Started out at 7:45 am. We were the first car in the parking lot, not a soul in sight. The ride up was not promising. All the way up 93 North we drove through thick fog. When we began our ascent into Franconia Notch the clouds began to part and the day started looking up. We crossed under the highway and made our way into the woods. We had snowshoes that we decided to leave in the car because the path looked pretty packed down. With about a half mile left till the peak we verbalized that the snowshoes probably would have come in handy and on the way down we verbalized it a few more times. Along with a few other "verbalizations" as we hung on to trees while skiing down a few steep spots. But all in all we really only needed our light traction to tackle the hike. The view at the top was wonderful! The fog had lifted except for some that had settled into the town of Lincoln which made the scenery extra breath-taking. The view of Franconia Ridge was crystal clear with a few puffy clouds thrown in the dramatic effect. We had a great hike and were so glad we started out early because we ran into about a dozen people and 4 dogs on our way down. When we got back to the parkin..." — sockmonkey145 • Jan 13, 2013
