"The Mount Norman track doesn't lead to the summit to access the summit an off track scramble is required. The route up is located just off the main track on the South side of the mountain just before (if travelling North from Mount Norman day use area) or just after (if travelling South from Castle Rock camping area) a rock arch the track goes through. There is talk of a painted arrows though they can be hard to spot I didn't see any on the way up and only noticed them on the returned even though I scrambled right over them. The scramble leads up some loose rock where you will then turn right up to a tree then climb up stones which are wedged in a crevice and work like steps to then the final section where the crevice forks into two crevices with a rock in the middle due to the narrow nature of the crevices I found it easiest to haul myself up the middle rock (this is probably the hardest section of the climb). After this you will be on top of the Southern rock dome though you aren't done though the worst is behind you walk North towards the higher Northern rock dome to get onto it you need to perform so little leaps of faith onto boulders wedged between the two and then walk up th..." — lahs • Jun 26, 2020
"Group of about 30 went to Mt Norman. About 12 made it to the top. Rain may have deterred some. Was part of a day when I went to The Sphinx and Turtle Rock, then Castle Rock. Ended say with the long drive back to Brisbane." — donizen • Oct 1, 2017
"Scrambled solo up to the summit. The formal track between the camping grounds and the Mt Norman day use area bypasses the summit to the west, but a faint spraypainted arrow at the base of the granite marks the start of the ascent route. Need to negotiate some narrow ledges, a tight crack and a couple of "leaps of faith" to and from a large granite boulder wedged between monoliths." — Michael • Mar 19, 2016
"Stayed at the B&B near Girraween National Park called Westeria Cottage. Great little cottage to accommodate wife' parents and us comfortably. Also checked out a few wineries. Pleasantly surprised with the quality of the wine. Recommend Tobin Estate." — tmpearce6 • Mar 5, 2011
