" Our 4-man climbing party arrived on August 25, 2000 in the town of Culasi, Antique where we spent the night. The next day, we boarded a tricycle for Barangay Alojipan, our base of ascent.
In Alojipan, we started the trek at past lunch-time with Dimas Makiling as guide to Hangod Tubig, the high-base camp. Defying the norm to start the ascent in the morning, our party reached Hangod Tubig at dusk, where we spent the night.
In the third day, August 27, 2000, our party pushed to the summit with minimal load, at first through the wooded slopes and later along the open ridge. By lunchtime, we reached the highest point, where we partook of a quick meal, and started down immediately.
We reached our camp in darkness and continued down the descent to Alopipan early the next day. Our guide commented that we are the fastest party he ever guided in the Alojipan trail." — dennis5033 • Aug 27, 2000
