"I had a great hike. Went by myself. The only car in the parking lot. It's a long, bumpy road to the trailhead parking lot. I did run into one other guy hiking with a guide. Really wet, cloudy, overcast day so no views. The trail is fairly well marked. I only got off the trail once and got back on track. I did a cool little video of the hike here: https://youtu.be/KM3z6DzBRls . Let me know what you think!" — liam • Jul 28, 2019
"You know you're in for a bit of a challenge at one point when the guide tells you to leave your hiking poles at the side of the trail because you'll need your hands to complete the climb! Very wet & slippery (it is a rainforest afterall!) with rocks and roots, it's quite a hike. But great views of the caldera at the top!" — marc • Jul 17, 2017
"Got attacked by monkeys coming off our cruise ship. Asked for a guide to the top. The first two guides said we didn't have enough time in a 6 hour port call and offered the rainforest hike instead. We kept asking and finally David showed up and offered to take us up. He had done it 5 times that week and rushed us over to his house to get a faster car. We blazed around the island and over to the trailhead. We hiked under the beautiful canopy during a mild rain and barely got wet. We were drenched with sweat though. We summited in 1 hour 15 minutes, a record for David. Totally made the cruise and the difficult journey worth it. Best hike I've ever done." — usncahill • Dec 12, 2011
