"Climbed to Burbank Peak and then took the Aileen Getty Ridge Trail to Mount Lee. Once you reach the memorial markers across from Mount Lee, retrace your steps a bit to the trail downward to access the paved road to the top of Mount Lee. Burbank Peak and Mount Lee have 'crowds' but Cahuenga Peak in the middle is sadly overlooked in its beauty and views. Done as an out-and-back.
Beautiful hike, the recent rains have made everything so green and lush in a way I haven't seen in years. One washed out area if you're taking the steep climb up via Wonder View Drive. The treasure chest and journals are no longer there, which is disappointing. The Ridge Trail had some difficult, rocky areas, but with care and patience they were easily passed." — zemthings • Jan 21, 2023
"We started out at 8 AM at a parking lot near the Merry-Go-Round. Then we went up of small use trail to Beacon Hill. The trail was very steep and rocky. The view from Beacon Hill is just okay. We saw a coyote on the summit. Then we went to Joe Klass Water stop. We saw a water tank and some great views of Los Angeles. Then we went around Glendale Peak on the Hogback Trail and then summited Glendale Peak via the Henry's Trail, the summit had great views and a benchmark. Then we went down the Riverside trail for a challenge and then climbed up a steep hill and a use trail that was loose and then went to the top of Hogback Peak (Bird Bath Peak), and it has great views fro it. Then went over to Mt Hollywood and then summited it. The summit was popular and had a summit plaque, and info signs and a benchmark. Then descended the summit to summit Taco Peak, Mt Baby Bell, and Mt Bell. Taco Peak had a concrete thing on top, Mt Bell has great views and benchmark, Mt Baby Bell was disappointing, and then we climbed up to Mt Chapel. The summit of Mt Chapel had great views and a benchmark. Then we climbed over to Mt Lee and then saw the Hollywood sign. Then we climbed down to summit Burbank and Ca..." — lc444 • Dec 19, 2022
"Started out at 9 AM (late) and started up the Wonder View Trail. Then after crossing under the gate we made it to the actual trailhead. After that climbed up the steep trail to Burbank Peak. After enjoying the summit flag and the Wisdom Tree, saw the summit benchmark and the view. After that climbed on the ridge for awile turned down a spur and summited Little Cahuenga Peak. Went back up to summit the OG Cahuenga Peak. It had 4 benchmarks and some great views. Climbed down from the summit of Cahuenga through a small forest and scrambled down. After a small backbone, climbed up to some overlook with a plaques. Then descended to Mt Lee road and climbed to the top of Mt Lee (the Hollywood sign) and enjoyed the views for a bit. After that climbed down." — lc444 • Oct 25, 2022
"Hiked up to visit the Wisdom Tree and then continued on to Cahuenga Peak and Hollywood Sign, finishing with the loop around to valley overlook. Thought my hiking shoes were in the trunk but alas were not, leaving the flip flops on my feet as my only option other than a barefoot hike. Not too bad, just very dirty feet by the end." — jodola • May 30, 2022
"7.26.2021. I took my girls to Santa Monica for some beach time and they were lovely to allow me to indulge in some peakbagging before we hit the beach. Mount Lee & Cahuenga Peak, 5.2 miles, 1,100’ gain." — paula.raimondi • Jul 26, 2021
"March 7, 2020. Checked this off my LA bucket list. Nice views of the Pacific Ocean and Angeles National Forest. As you enter the park there are signs that say "no Hollywood Sign access", but I think this means no car access to the top. This is a clear hiker trailhead. " — runningvegan • Mar 7, 2020
"First hike of 2020! We went to Griffith Park to hike the Hollywood sign. So did everybody else. But it was still a nice hike. Coming back down off the summit we decided to "detour" over to Griffith Observatory. So did everybody else. The crowds there were insane. Afterwards, back down to the car and off to find dinner. Happy New Year to all my fellow Peakery's!" — marc • Jan 1, 2020
"Another great hike with 3H (Hiking for Health and Happiness), who join forces with the hiking group 213 and others to lead a pre-new years eve day hike. I had a lot of fun hiking with my friends and meeting literally dozens of others who have become friends. The ultimate goal of this hike was to celebrate the last day of the year at the Wisdom Tree on Burbank Peak." — Philip-Yoho • Dec 31, 2017
"After a long hiking hiatus, I decided to get the party started once again. I began by bagging three peaks in one hike. I had been up Mount Lee before, but two other peaks got added onto the Griffith Park acreage in recent years. They are Burbank Peak and Cahuenga Peak. A trail that I recently became aware of (but has probably been there forever), called the Wonder View Trail, connects all three summits. Mission accomplished. 3 miles R/T with an approximate 800' elevation gain." — MikeTeeples • Jun 4, 2017
"Second time to the Hollywood sign. The first time, 6 months earlier, being my second every mountain hike, thought it was going to kill me. After numerous hikes since, tried this one again; and it was MUCH easier. It pays to keep on hiking!" — marc • Dec 28, 2016
