"Hit 6 peaks in one really long day to complete the CT Tower Challenge. Some things to note: 1. The Sleeping Giant tower is not at the summit of Mt Carmel. 2. The short route up East Peak is very steep and should not be attempted unless you are in really good shape. 3. Cunningham Tower is nowhere near the top of Mohawk Mountain. Make sure you look it up first as there is really no trail to the tower as you will need to take the road. " — jonl • Dec 29, 2022
"Climbed it the first weekend the park opened after the tornado. What devastation to the trees. But that is mother nature. It will heal with new growth. It was great to see so many people climbing to the tower." — cv • Jun 16, 2019
"Chestnut Ln Trail Head. Quick hike from the feet of sleeping giant, up the right leg to the right knee and right hip via the orange trail. Across to the tower trail by the red triangle cut across and back down the left hip, left leg (see pictures of roosting vultures), left knee, Hezekiah's Knob and across the right foot back to the trailhead. "Steep, steep, STEEP start up the Blue/Quinnipiac Trail that reminded of some of the tougher trails in the White Mountains in NH. The views from the many cliff outlooks were fantastic. Tower Trail was a welcome change of pace when I met up with it. Took it to the tower and then back down to the parking lot. Great little mountain full of numerous ways to get to the top." — HikeLikeMike • Jun 12, 2016
"Since the park is free on the weekdays, we decided to take a quick trip up the mountain. I carried my son up the mountain in the back carrier, which ended up being easier than I had expected. I should do this more often; it will get me in shape if I ever want to do a backpacking trip. My son loved running up and down the tower at the top!" — ElectroSpecter • May 24, 2012
