"This route includes the crossing of the amazing Cirque de Mourèze. The views over the Lac du Salagou from the first two tops are stunning. The highpoint of the second one (Sommet de Lousses, 511m) is a small rocky outcrop on the ridge which requires a quick scramble. Worth the detour as it the rocks rise high enough above the forestry to offer a 360° panorama. Best season is obviously April to June as to enjoy the variety of wild flowers, including several species of orchids." — TheLonePeakbagger • May 27, 2022

"Start hike from Mariailles refuge; follow GR10 to Pla del Cady, then head off towards the lakes. When at last lake, stiff climb, very loose rocks up to summit, then veer left on crest (towards the Mediterranean sea), summit marked by corrugated ice pick. Count 4 hours from Marialles to summit" — Bridget100cims • Jun 25, 2011
"We tried to walk part of the GR10, starting with the climb of the Canigou end ending in Banyuls sur Mer. Our dog who was walking with us had tremendous problems due to the heat, so we didn't reach Banyuls. But fortunately we did reach the Pic du Canigou. When we arrived on the summet there was a wedding on the summit! We drank champagne and had a unique moment over there. Wonderful memories... This year (2013) we will climb the Canigou again..." — Leen • Jun 20, 2010
