"From the end of the public road at Hartside (NT97711 16211). Took the private road up the valley to Linhope, then grassy bridleway to the ruined village. Then footpath up to join track up SE ridge over Cunyan Crags and up to the summit. Forest on NE side of the hill now felled. Return by outward route. Solo. Sunny breaks, giving way to more frequent rain showers. Fierce SW wind." — marktrengove2 • Oct 5, 2022
"From Hartside, headed to Linhope then followed public path across fields. Then followed wall that became a fence almost straight up. There was a faint quad bike trail that made the going a lot easier. Was with my daughter (6) and she broke down in tears near the summit after doing all the hard work. But she pulled it together and bagged the summit with me and that put a smile on her face all the way back to Hartside (about 4.5 miles in total = 3 hours at my daughter's pace). Weather was foggy on the top spoiling the views. Very cold wind. Drizzle at the bottom, sleet and snow at the top." — NorthernWayfarer • Jan 14, 2018
"A cool breezy day, with a little fresh snow on the higher hills. We set off from the Ingram valley. Walked up near the site of a medieval village, then up onto the ridge at Cunyan Crags. Here we had views out to sea and NE out to Lindisfarne, Holy Island. WE then went alongside Threestoneburn Wood and up steeply onto the summit of Dunmmor Hill. There were a few wooden shields in the ground arond the summit plateau, which I assume are hides for grouse shooting. It was very windy on the summit, but there were good views of Hedgehope Hill and the Cheviot, and the other hills around. We returned initially down the same route, but dropped off the ridge before the summit of Cunyan Crags." — davidlong • Mar 6, 2012
