Being huge Jack Kerouac fans, my best friend and I set out to see for ourselves the fire lookout he resided in over the summer of '56. After seriously underestimating the time required to reach the mountain, we finally summited just before dawn. Once the sun came up, the view more than made up for all the aggravation in getting there.
