"Great loop trail on Palomar Mountain. The loop took me through Doane Valley and other forested areas of the park. Had a nice visit at the Boucher Hill Lookout which has great views of both Rincon and Pauma Valley below." — Philip-Yoho • Apr 1, 2017
"2nd peak of the day. Road was closed so I did the short hike up. Went and skated Valley Center DIY park afterwards and capped the day off at Booze Bros. Great last day in SD of 2017. " — MatthewWinterberg • Feb 23, 2017
"One of my shortest and easiest hikes. My original plan was to do a tough and steep hike, to summit Palomar's High Point (6,140') from Oak Grove (13.5 mi round trip, 3,600' elevation gain), but that went awry when I took a wrong turn, going north on 79 in Temecula and Murrietta, so after I painstakingly corrected my course I would have reached the trailhead at 10am, way later than I would have liked, so I drove up to Palomar Mountain State Park and parked at Silvercrest Picnic Area (1st left after paying the fee) like I have done several times before. I walked from Silvercrest to S7, then up the Boucher Hill Loop Road to the summit and had a relaxing walk in the fresh, windy winter air with spectacular views across Southern California. I went back down the loop back to the picnic area, then took a scenic drive around Palomar Mountain." — brianpowell • Jan 28, 2017
"The coldest day of the year! The puddles up here were frozen so hard, I couldn'r break them with my car. We (the wife and I) walked the dog up from the intersection of Nate Harrison Grade and watched the sunset. Beautiful...but cold." — benjineer • Jan 13, 2013
