A group of 18 of us climbed Bengorm. The weather forecast was good with light rain or drizzle and light winds forecast. When we arrived at the mountain it was drizzly an misty so we knew that we would not be able to enjoy the spectacular views of the area.
As we climbed the weather worsened continuously, until it was blowing gale force winds and heavy rain with visibilty down to about 20 yards but at that stage we were only 2 kms from the top so we battled on. It took us over three hours to summit in the appalling conditions and we did not hang around at the top for fear of losing daylight before we got down. As it turned out, we made the descent in an hour. It was a tough climb with ground conditions extremely wet and slippery but it was nice to have another peak under our belts!
