"Adam's peak (Sri pada Kanda) is the most attracted and popular hike in Sri lanka. There are six main routes as three formal trails and three jungle trails.
We hiked the holy peak through the Uda malimboda trail. This trail is identified as the moderate difficult trail out of the three jungle trails. " — viraj • Jan 22, 2011
"Woke up at 2am to start the climb - was plenty of time. It's a path of steps (all irregular in height - the ultimate in step aerobics! There were men bounding up carrying barrels of coke while I caught my breath - crazy. At the top there were some refreshments available and then the wait for dawn. Dawn starts as a pin prick of light, then grows into a beautiful sky. There's a Buddhist service at the top and you can see Adam's footprint (or any of the many other deities that it has been attributed to). It's, naturally, painted silver with flower offerings. Hang around a little longer and as the sun climbs you'll get a mystical floating pyramid shadow on the mists in the valley below. Sadly no pictures as my camera broke and this was before the days of camera phones. Gutted! Would love to redo this!" — ailgop • Feb 18, 2002
